iPod touch 4th Gen Repairs Coming Soon?!

Well rumours are all over the place about there being a new Apple iPod touch coming soon.  This would be the fourth incarnation of the iPod touch - a huge success for Apple no doubt.

When you look back at the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Generation iPod touch, there is not all that much difference between the models.  The 2nd and 3rd Generation iPod touch are barely indistiguishable from the outside, and even from the inside when you use the device.

But the new 4th Generation might surprise us all.

Some say it will have a camera, some say two cameras like the iPhone 4.  Most definately it will be able to run iOS4 - Apple's new (if buggy) operating system.

Um, and where's that much-needed iOS4 update, Apple?

Ok, I digress...

The iPod touch 4th Generation repairs that we offer will likely include LCD's, digitizer screens, batteries, and a whole host of other services.  I think the iPod touch 4 will also need to be different enough from the other previous touch repair models AND has to be different enough from the oh-so-popular iPad, since the iPad has definately taken some of those iPod touch sales away.

Let me know when the new iPod touch comes out, ok?!

The Worst Diets to Avoid

Most recently, I have been using my iPhone as a helpful weight-loss tool to count my calories. Still, I always have a little bit of curiosity about all of the diets out there that claim to help you lose weight in just a few days. Are they really good for you?
After doing a little bit of research, I found that many of the top fad diets are actually the most unhealthy. An example of this would be diets that focus only on certain food groups and tell you to avoid others. These include the cabbage soup diet, extreme vegan diets, and the Atkins diet. The reason that these are not the best choices is because you need a diet that gives you a variety of nutrients so that your body can thrive, even while cutting calories. In fact, if you are balancing your diet well, you can cut back on calories to lose weight while still feeling your best. The point of the matter is that diets aren't supposed to be easy or instant, so you need to beware of any advertisements that claim such things. The proper diet will give you a balanced nutritional plan coupled with exercise to help you lose weight.

You Can't Beat Free Jalbum

If you are looking for a free resource in photo sharing online, Jalbum needs to be your first stop. You definitely can't beat something that is free, and many customers are raving about the variety of skins available to change the look of your photo album on the website. Even further, many computer illiterate online users have had great success with uploading the pictures and creating a customized album without having to have any tech training whatsoever.

Whether you're a highly experienced professional photographer or someone new to the world of uploading pictures online, this is a wonderful and versatile album resource. What Jalbum will allow you to do is to create a legitimate photo gallery on the website, which also can be uploaded to your own blog or website, or you may choose to share your professionally showcased pictures with your family and friends via Twitter and Facebook with your favorite Jalbum skin. This is a much more aesthetic approach than simply uploading your pictures to Facebook because you have the creative control to make a final album that you will be proud of. And did I mention that all of the steps involved are easy? And free. I have to emphasize that you can't beat it.

Watch Out for These Chips!

I have recently been using a calorie counting app on my newly milliamp.com repaired iPhone called Lose It. This has given me a greater perspective on everything that I put in my mouth on a daily basis, often causing me to think twice about my calorie choices. For this reason, I decided to check out some information online about the worst chips that you could eat since I wanted to still integrate chips into my diet a few days a week. What I found was somewhat shocking!

The worst potato chips on the market are the Boulder Canyon Malt Vinegar and Sea Salt chips. They claim to be natural, but they have more than twice as the sodium as many leading brands on the market. Instead, it is better to try a low-sodium alternative, like Popchips Salt and Pepper. Another top choice to avoid is Ruffles Cheddar and Sour Cream chips, which are full of fried potato calories. Instead, Baked! Lays Barbecue Flavored chips would be a healthier choice with full flavor and barbecue goodness. The bottom line is that you have to think through everything that you eat on a daily basis so that you can make smarter choices while still enjoying delicious foods.

Is Lady Gaga Making Health Mistakes?

To start, I am guilty of always checking out celebrity gossip on my iPhone that recently got a great repair from milliamp.com, and who isn't? That's why I found out some interesting information about Lady Gaga, and why she may be making some detrimental health mistakes. First of all, she has been observed skipping meals so that she almost collapsed on stage when she was in New Zealand. She claims that she doesn't have enough time in her schedule to eat regularly, but that is a very damaging behavior that could cause serious fatigue.

Lady Gaga also admits to dabbling in drugs and sometimes smoking cigarettes, which still causes harm even if you don't smoke or do drugs regularly. Lady Gaga has also acknowledged having heart palpitations, which she feels are not a big deal. However, doctors recommend that any type of heart palpitations should be checked out regularly because they could be the symptom of a greater issue. The lesson to be learned here is not to let your crazy rock star lifestyle get the best of you, no matter how busy you may be. A full schedule doesn't mean that you shouldn't take care of yourself, eat well, and make healthy choices! Unlike Lady Gaga...

Can Relaxing Increase Your Success?

I always like to look up little tips and tidbits on my iPhone because it is so tempting. One of the recent words of advice that I found was on a blog that discussed using balance to create better success in your work life. Doesn't that normally work completely the opposite? Most people struggle to maintain a busy schedule so that they can work, work, work, and make all the money.

This idea is contrary to what many people believe in that we need to renew our energy every 90 minutes to perform at our best. This is talking not only about the physical, but also about the emotional and mental aspect. When you rest and relax every 90 minutes, the times that you do work will be much more productive overall. Can you believe it? I know that this is something that would be incredibly difficult for me to do, especially since I am tempted to keep on working, even if I am mentally and physically fatigued. However, this could represent the new model for success to allow you to work long hours through balance and rejuvenation instead of working yourself to death.

Are You Drinking Enough Water?

One interesting app that I found on my iPhone will regulate the amount of water that you drink on a daily basis. So how much water are you really drinking? It is important to keep in mind that drinking water provides so many benefits, including reducing fatigue, improving your skin, and even helping you to lose weight.

First of all, the biggest benefit to drinking water regularly is that it will improve the clarity and tone of your complexion. This means that if you struggle with acne, a dull skin tone, or even dryness, you may simply be dehydrated. Many people don't realize that such a simple solution can be provided by regularly drinking water, but I promise you that as soon as you begin to increase your water intake, you will see a serious difference. This is truly fantastic because it will work to flush toxins from the surface of your skin so that your skin tone starts to look vibrant and youthful. In addition to using the best skin care products on the market, drinking water regularly is nature's little helpers so that you can see even greater results in a youthful complexion.

Grocery Shopping Made Easy

I like to cook for myself and my family, but one of the challenges that I constantly face is that I don't know how to grocery shop properly. Seriously, how hard could it be? Still, I always find myself missing a few important items in my pantry, or having too many of one thing, like cans of corn and soup. What am I supposed to do with that? That is why I looked up some helpful tips for the best way to shop on my iPhone so that I could make smarter purchases in the grocery store.

To start out with, it is important to always have staples on hand, like brown rice, seeds, and nuts. These are foods that will keep for quite some time, and they make it easier to create dishes on the fly. When it comes to fruits and vegetables, you need to be more careful to purchase items that won't go bad. Make sure that you are buying fruits and vegetables that you will use right away and that can be integrated into different dishes. Last of all, remember to never shop when you are hungry because that is a trap in itself! You may find yourself purchasing items that you normally wouldn’t buy simply because your mouth was watering in the junk food aisle.

Baby Steps in Cooking

I have always wanted to be an awesome Top Chef, especially after watching the show. Still, I seem to have a terrible touch when it comes to cooking, with everything that I make turning out burned, black, or simply overseasoned. I decided that I would start out in baby steps when it came to cooking by checking out different cooking apps on my iPhone. Seriously, there are so many choices and helpful tips that I don't even know where to begin!

Everyone out there may think that I am a big-time cheater, but my first "cooking" attempt was actually a chopped salad. Yes, I know that it does not count as cooking at all, but I wanted to make something really delicious and creative that I could enjoy. How many times have you been to a fancy Italian restaurant and have eaten a chopped salad that was to die for? That was exactly what I was trying to re-create, and I think that I should get points because I made my own homemade garlic dressing. The salad was truly delicious, and I shared it with my roommate. It had chopped eggs, mushrooms, provolone, prosciutto, black olives, lettuce, tomatoes, and chickpeas, and you better believe that it was the best thing that I have ever made... so far.

Another Karate Kid?

Sometimes movie remakes are wonderful, and sometimes they are not so wonderful... As you may be well aware, the new Karate Kid movie is coming out with Will Smith’s son as the star. Who knows? It may be a wonderful movie, but then again, it may be just as cheesy as many other remakes have been. For this reason, I decided to check out some interesting movie reviews on my iPhone to find out some other examples of pretty bad movie remakes that have been created over the years.

Among the top contenders are the remakes of Planet of the Apes, Psycho, and The Longest Yard. Unfortunately, many of these bad remakes solidify the fact that the original movie is often much better, no matter how old that it may be. A few other bad examples of not so good remakes are The Stepford Wives, The Shaggy Dog, and even The Pink Panther, despite having Steve Martin as the star. It may be wonderful to see the new Karate Kid coming out in theaters, but I myself am thinking that it would be a better idea to download or rent the older movies and have a nostalgic afternoon. Old movies are good for a reason!

Where Is Your Life Going?

If this is a question that you often ask yourself, no reason to keep beating yourself up any longer! The iPhone always has the answers for you, including the Life Goals app. So many people have wonderful aspirations that they never achieve because they are not focused and organized. If that is the case, you may be wondering how to put your goals in place, which is the help that this app can offer you.

This app has many different categories for your goals, like finances, health, career, education, relationship, and pleasure. Maybe you want to revamp your entire lifestyle, and make goals in all of these categories. It is entirely up to you! You can even add more specific and detailed categories, like if you hope to build muscle or lose weight. Once all of these goals are entered, you can view them in a To Do list style, which will show you how difficult these goals may be to achieve. This app shows you the effort it will take to achieve the goals and the impact that they will have on your life if you meet your goal dates. This is your opportunity to succeed in a few easy steps!

Words with Friends Victory!

One of the most addicting apps on my iPhone to date is Words with Friends, and I know that many people out there know what I'm talking about. Of course, I never thought that I would be a Scrabble addict, but when it is in a handheld app at the touch of your fingers, you can't help but obsess over which words you are going to play. I have even gone so far as starting several games at one time, so I am constantly thinking up, mixing up, and trying out new words to beat my opponents.

For anyone out there that feel skeptical about this app and thinks that it sounds nerdy, think again! This is truly a game of strategy, and I absolutely promise that you will get addicted. One of my most recent brilliant moves was using the word "quixotic”, which not only used up all of my letters to add more points but had a pretty brilliant placement on the board. Overall, I scored 87 points from one single word, and any Words with Friends junkie out there will know what I'm talking about! If you have not yet tried out this game, give it a spin, and I promise that you will be addicted in no time.

Gardening for the Springtime!

Yes, spring is upon us, so if you have any type of big plans for the warmer season, you may want to try the Landscapers Companion iPhone app. This gives you some serious information on annuals, shrubs, trees, ornamental grasses, and other landscaping accessories, which was actually recommended to me by my mother. You see, I just bought my first condo with my fiancé, giving me the opportunity to try my hand at my green thumb. I don't know if I will be any good at it, but my mother is absolutely obsessed with her outdoor garden, so I figured that I would trust her opinion.

So far this app has been quite helpful because it has a number of different pictures, including information about growing conditions for different plants. I am making a little plan on the type of plants that I can use in my limited garden space outside of my condo, which will hopefully provide an aesthetic appeal and survive all inclement weather conditions. Wish me luck because I was never anyone that was very plant friendly, but this is my opportunity to use all of this knowledge to my advantage to plant different flowers, shrubs, and even vines.

Big Mark No Fix from PolymerGarage.com

Seems that Kyn Sparks and PolymerGarage.com were more interested in doing the initial job and collecting a paycheck than backing up their product with world-class service, in this recent review of iGarageFloor.com also seen as PolymerGarage a few days ago.  They apparently installed this new flooring at an electronics repairs shop and later, after it was determined that a chair scuffed the shiny surface coating, neglected to come by and re-surface that area, despite multiple attempts by the owners to get them to come by.  Stories like this frost me, because it shows that some businesses don't care what happens after they complete their work - they take their paycheck and run, never to be seen from or heard from again.  PolymerGarage.com aka IGarageFloor.com should be ashamed of theselves.

Ready for Beautiful Teeth?

Perhaps one of the least fun things to discuss in life is your dental health, but it is also one of the most necessary. This was something that had been on my mind quite a bit lately, so I downloaded the Dental Expert iPhone app for a hefty four dollars. Most apps are much cheaper, so I figured that this one would really pack a punch. Apparently, it has the answer to frequently asked questions to dentists all over the world.

This app will tell you the 411 on what it takes to improve your smile and keep your teeth healthy your whole life long. One of the tips I most appreciated was what to do to dental emergency, like if you are traveling and don't have a toothbrush. This app also gives you great tips on what to do to minimize your dental costs, which we all know can be expensive if you don't have a complete health care plan. On top of that, if you have any type of questions about missing teeth, this app will give you the alternatives and available treatments to correct your smile. I would recommend this for anyone with a few questions about the dentist, perhaps inspiring you to make an appointment!

A Gourmet Crockpot Meal?

I feel that the crockpot is entirely underestimated, which is why I wanted to download the crockpot recipe app. I always had a bad association with crockpots in that they were the lazy way to make a gruel-like substance for dinner. That is no longer the case because this crockpot recipe app is innovative, delicious, and even gourmet! You have the opportunity to search through different categories of recipes to make at home in your crockpot, and it even lets you tag recipes to make a shopping list for your next trip to the grocery store.

Here is an example of how gourmet this crockpot app really is! One of the top-rated recipes is Steak Diane, which is a premium dish that you would find in any fine restaurant. This Steak Diane recipe is really easy to make from beef tenderloins, mushrooms, parsley, chives, and butter in the crockpot for up to eight hours. This means that you can toss all of these ingredients into your slow cooker before you get to work, and then you can have a fresh and delicious meal on the table to impress your family with minimal effort on your part. Does life get any better?

Kyn Sparks iGarageFloor - No Follow-Up

When the time came to re-do the floors in our office, we thought we had found the right guy: Kyn Sparks with iGarageFloor.com aka PolymerGarage.com.  They did a good job, actually - enough so, that we even recommended them to our landlord, and helped the score some more work.

However, when we noticed that a rolling chair with plastic wheels was causing the shiny new coating to wear down, we got in touch with Kyn Sparks and iGarageFloor to see what could be done.  "No problem.", we were told, "be there next week".  So we moved equipment around to prepare for the minor inconvenience while the floor received spot treatment.

But Kyn Sparks did not show up.  No email, no call.  Calls to see what was happening went un-returned.  Emails were not responded to.

It was as if he disappeared from the face of the Earth.

Ran into Kyn Sparks at the last Parade of Homes - he immediately recalled our situation, apologized, and promised a call to get the situation resolved.  That was months ago.

Gave PolymerGarage Kyn Sparks another shot, tried another email.  Nothing.

The main takeaway from this situation is that, no matter how good of a product or service you provide at the onset, if you cannot back it up after the sale, you do not belong in business.

The Vegetarian Help You Need

Vegetarians have it rough, don't they? If you are a vegetarian, you may be increasingly frustrated eating out with your dietary restrictions. Often times, vegetarians will have to order something off the menu, like a strange and specially made entrée that doesn't include meat. It's almost not fair! If that is the type of frustration that you are enduring every time you go out to eat, you may want to download the VegOut iPhone app, which is a specific restaurant guide for vegetarians.

Instead of having a difficult time trying to find the right place to eat out, you will have a list on hand of vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants that you can choose instead. This is perfect for any traveling vegetarian who needs to find a delicious and healthy place to eat without meat, of course. You can have vegetarian friendly restaurants mapped out in your area, so you can decide what the closest and best options may be for you to have a delicious meal. You don't necessarily need meat to have a good time, as any vegetarian can tell you, but it can become increasingly frustrating if you can't find a decent vegetarian meal. Stop any problems before they start with this vegetarian dining iPhone app!

The Perfect iPhone App for Your Baby

Anyone who has children knows how difficult it is to get them to sleep! For this reason, one of the iPhone apps that I have been raving about lately is Baby Sleep. Seriously, you can buy this for less than a dollar, and you will be kissing your iPhone by the time it is done. Even though that is not necessarily a good idea since it could probably cause water damage or smear the screen of the phone... Anyhow, this iPhone app will give you gentle music to lull your baby to sleep. All you have to do is start the app on the iPhone, and it will start playing lullabies for your baby.

This is quite relaxing, and if you are a new mother, I have to warn you that you may be falling asleep yourself. That's not necessarily a bad idea since we all know how important it is to try to catch naps when you can as a new parent. The bottom line is that if you want your child to nap right away, give them a little bit of this relaxation in this iPhone app. I tell you what, this has really come a long way from those creaky musical mobiles of my childhood!

Wanna Live Better?

One pretty interesting iPhone app that has caught my eye is 101 ways to Improve your Life. Is it really as good as it sounds? If you are feeling listless, depressed, and not really like getting out of bed in the morning, then this little app boasts being the life-saving tool that you are looking for. This app is going to give you guidance to turn your life around and begin to enjoy your days with helpful advice on how to exercise, develop your intelligence, and even eat better.

Basically, this iPhone app will give you instant motivation, and you can also bookmark tips that you enjoyed to share them with your friends through e-mail, Twitter, and Facebook. As an example, there are motivational tips available, like not sweating the small stuff because life is too short. If you are hoping for a little bit of everyday inspiration, this may be the perfect app for you. I don't know if it will cure a deep depression, but it does offer some fun and helpful tips for finances, intimacy, love, families, life, nutrition, and relationships. I guess it can't hurt to give it a spin to improve your life in a few simple ways!

Who Doesn't Love the iPad?

Why on earth are people signing a petition against the iPad? Around 5000 people gave a digital signature to a petition against the iPad, which is petitioning the CEO of Apple to remove digital rights from the contents of the device. What this basically means is that the digital rights allow Apple to block competing products, disable certain features, delete books, delete news, and other functions without permission from the user. This is something that up to 5000 people disagree with, and they made their statement online.

The bottom line is that is potentially nitpicky when you think of all that the iPad has to offer. Do these people have iPad envy? This is a helpful device that you can use to read a book, download a map, check an e-mail, among a number of other functions. I am more than happy to give it a shot, and my only concern is the need for iPad repair parts since the screen seems so delicate. I have done a little bit of research online, and there are already several popular companies able to repair the iPad, which is a load off my shoulders in case anything were to break on me.

What the Heck is Tuna Tartare?

One of the things that I have been using my iPhone for lately is some extreme cooking. This is not something that I am normally accustomed to, but I have to admit that I am tempted by all of the recipe apps on my iPhone! I have always watched Top Chef, and I have wondered what some of the fancier items are, and also how difficult they may be to create. The first item on my list was tuna tartare, but I didn't know exactly what it was...

I started researching it on my iPhone, and I found out that tartare is chopped raw fish that is specially seasoned. It is something used as a spread for toast or bread, or it can even be served by itself in a special dish. One of the recipes that I began with was fairly simple, but it had a little bit of Asian flair to the tuna tartare. It contained lime juice, wasabi powder, soy sauce, red pepper, avocados, and jalapeno peppers. This ended up making a fun little dish that a few of my friends enjoyed, and I promise you that they were highly impressed that I was able to pull off this culinary skill with only the help of my iPhone!

A Nice, Big Screen

The iPad is the newest tech hit on the market, and it is a larger tablet that allows you to conveniently read books because of the roomy screen. Basically, you can start out by thinking of an iPod touch with a screen that is 10 inches. This makes it much easier on the eyes to play games, read downloadable books, and look at pictures. It also has a beautifully sleek design, and did I mention the large screen?

It seems that this device has nice high def power, so you will see everything with much more clarity, including three hours of continuous HD playback after charging the battery. If you are someone who is into e-books and EMagazines, then you're absolutely going to love the use of this device because it will allow you to download an EMagazine Reader to see everything in colorful animation. This is the way of the future, and now you have the ability to see all of the fullness in life that you would normally find on your computer screen in a smaller form that you can take with you anywhere. My only concern is the need for an iPad repair service because it seems that the big screen could break easily!

Travel To Portland!

One of the latest fun things that I have been doing with my iPhone is looking up various travel guides to see what cities I would like to add to my list of places to visit. I looked at an intricate travel guide on my iPhone for Portland, and it seems to have a number of different features, including Japanese Gardens, International Rose Test Gardens, and even a museum of Contemporary Craft.

If you are the outdoorsy type, you can take a bicycle ride around the Colombia River, and there are even weeklong bicycle tours available beginning in Portland. For beautiful dining, it's also a great idea to try the Stone Cliff Inn, which is up on a cliff overlooking the river and forests. Portland also has the fun cultural phenomenon of food carts, meaning that you can check out public areas of the city and purchase a number of different items, ranging from pizza to pitas, from a food cart on the street. The bottom line is that this is a city full of interesting travel ideas, and you can access all of these suggestions directly from your iPhone during your stay. It is definitely at the top of my list of places to go!

A Lamb Born With a Human Face?

I'm not one for far-fetched tales, but this is one of the craziest headlines that I have seen lately! Normally, I make it a priority to check out the day's headlines from my trusty iPhone because that is one of my favorite uses for it. I have a number of different websites saved that I can look at, and I'm especially addicted to checking out social bookmarking sites on my iPhone.

That being said, I am completely freaked out by this sheep that gave birth to a dead lamb that had a human face. Totally shocking! Apparently, a vet removed the dead lamb from the sheep with a cesarean section, and it seemed to have human features. This is a very rare instance, and it seems to be a deformity because the lamb's mother had an excessive intake of vitamin A. Last September, there was a goat in Zimbabwe that gave birth in similar circumstances. This goat baby had a head similar to a human, and it was alive until several villagers killed it because it was so disturbing.

I'm not sure to what to make of all of these circumstances except to be reminded of GoatBoy from SNL. Too soon?

Do You Remember The Labyrinth Game?

It is no secret that the iPhone is often used for mindless games, which makes it pretty relaxing, like using a stress ball. One fun game along those lines is Labyrinth, which is a classic game you may recognize. Basically, you will work to get a steel ball through a wooden labyrinth by tilting your iPhone. This actually used to be a live game with a real little ball in the labyrinth, but now you can download it and play it on your iPhone.

Be prepared because there are 1000 different levels! You can download new levels through the game, and there are such additions, like optional 3-D walls that allow you to change your perspective when you tilt your phone. There are also simulations of falling through holes to make the whole thing more realistic. If you feel a little bit intimidated by the old Labyrinth game, then you don't have to worry because there are easy beginner levels if you are just starting out. And there is sound! These are games that I remember you could get from the quarter machine at an arcade, and now they are all jazzed up and fancy in this downloadable iPhone application.
